Audiologist impression instruction
- Ear impression procedure takes 5-7 minutes. First of all, a specialist checks the ear canals for foreign bodies (cerumen). Further a cotton block that will prevent impression material leaking to the eardrum is placed into the eardrum cavity. After that a silicone viscous mass is filled in the ear canal hardened within 3-4 minutes.
During filling in the ear canal with the impressions material, the client's lower jaw should be in a relaxed state and the mouth is slightly open. If impressions are made for singing musicians, then it is necessary to clamp an object with the 2 - 2,5 cm size in the front teeth, or open the mouth wide. It simulates the singing process! - It is important that the tip of the syringe during the pouring procedure remains immersed in the already squeezed impression mass. It will prevent the formation of air bubbles in the impression! It is necessary to use two-component silicone impression masses of high viscosity!
